The record-breaking stage phenomenon comes to ACT 1 as the finale of our season, and the most ambitious production we have ever attempted. Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy step out of their fathers’ shadows into a story of friendship, legacy, and the dangerous magic of second chances. This is our first full play, which means you do not need to sing to take center stage. Real stage magic, real illusions, real wonder, all created by young performers. The story you grew up with is waiting for you to tell it.
The Sorting
Every house. One stage.
Every performer who walks into our auditions brings a different kind of magic. We want all four.
Gryffindor
For the bold ones.
The performers who leap first, make the big choice, and run toward the scariest scene in the script.
Ravenclaw
For the thinkers.
The script analysts and craft obsessives who find the meaning under every line and make it land.
Hufflepuff
For the heart.
The loyal ones who lift the whole company, learn everyone’s lines, and hold the room together.
Slytherin
For the ambitious.
The driven ones who polish every beat, chase greatness, and refuse to settle for a good enough take.
The Sorting Hat has nothing on our casting table. Bring heart and work ethic, and you belong here.
The ACT 1 Standard
Why this is the one everyone will remember
Real Stage Magic
Illusions, transformations, and effects built into the play itself, performed live. Audiences will ask how we did it. Our cast will know.
Our First Play
No score. No vocal ranges. Pure acting. If the stage has been calling you but singing held you back, this is your door in.
The Next Generation
A story about stepping out of the shadow of what came before, performed by the generation doing exactly that. It could not fit ACT 1 better.
The Commitment
Rehearsal dates coming soon.
We are finalizing the full rehearsal calendar for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and will post every date, time, and performance right here. Rehearsal dates and times will be subject to change.
Stay tunedYou do not need to wait for the calendar to audition. Registration is open now, and cast families will be the first to receive the full schedule.
The Cast
Meet the Next Generation
The heroes you grew up with are parents now, and their children are writing their own story. Legends and newcomers, rivals and best friends, and a mystery that bends time itself. These are roles young actors dream about, and for the first time at ACT 1, not a single one requires a song.
Lead Roles
Albus Potter
The SonGrowing up as Harry Potter’s son is its own kind of curse. Prickly, funny, and braver than he knows, Albus carries the whole play on his shoulders.
Scorpius Malfoy
The Best FriendSweet, awkward, wildly loyal, and quite possibly the most beloved character in the play. Scorpius steals every scene he walks into and hands the audience its heart back at the end.
Harry Potter
The LegendThe Boy Who Lived is now a father who is struggling, and that is a much harder battle. A role about what heroes look like twenty years after the war is won.
Hermione Granger
Minister for MagicThe brightest witch of her age now runs the entire wizarding world. Command, intellect, and, in the play’s twists, sides of Hermione no one has ever seen.
Ron Weasley
The HeartJoke-shop owner, devoted husband, and the comic soul of the wizarding world. Every heavy scene needs Ron to walk in right after it.
Ginny Potter
The Steady OneThe strongest person in the Potter house, and the one who tells Harry the truth no one else will. Quiet steel, deep love, perfect aim.
Draco Malfoy
The Rival, GrownThe school bully became a grieving father trying to do better. One of the play’s great surprises: Draco Malfoy will break your heart.
Delphi
The MysteryA charming stranger with silver-blue hair, a quick smile, and secrets we will not spoil here. Say only this: it is one of the juiciest roles in modern theatre.
Featured Roles
Rose Granger-Weasley
Hermione’s daughter, top of every class and absolutely certain about it.
Professor McGonagall
Headmistress of Hogwarts, unshakeable, and done with everyone’s nonsense.
The Trolley Witch
Anything from the trolley, dears? One of the play’s most delicious surprises.
Moaning Myrtle
Still haunting the bathrooms, still dramatic, still fabulous.
Amos Diggory
A grieving father whose plea sets the entire story in motion.
Cedric Diggory
The champion whose memory echoes through every choice the boys make.
The Sorting Hat
Yes, the Hat is a role, and a showstopper of one.
Albus Dumbledore
Wisdom from within a portrait frame, and one devastating conversation.
Ensemble
Students of Hogwarts
Robes, wands, and corridors full of life. The school itself, played by our company.
The Ministry of Magic
Officials, aurors, and the machinery of the wizarding world in motion.
The Movement Ensemble
The famous magic of this play, transformations, time turns, cloaks, and staircases, is created by ensemble movement. In this production, the ensemble literally makes the magic.
Dreams & Other Times
Visions, memories, and moments where the past bleeds into the present. Haunting, beautiful ensemble work.
Casting Philosophy at ACT 1
At ACT 1, we believe every performer deserves meaningful opportunities to shine. The Cursed Child is built like no show we have ever produced: a handful of iconic roles surrounded by an ensemble that creates every illusion the audience will gasp at. When a suitcase becomes a train and a cloak becomes a spell, that is not a special effect. That is our ensemble. In this play, the magic does not happen to the company. The company is the magic.
