An old song, sung brand new.
- May – June 2027
- Ages 14–19
- Audition-Only Intensive
Way down under the stage lights, two stories intertwine: a young dreamer with a song that could change the world, and a king and queen learning what it costs to hold on to love. The Tony Award winning celebration of hope, doubt, and the power of music comes to ACT 1 as the crowning production of our season. For our most experienced teen performers, this is the deepest, richest, most beautiful challenge we can offer. Come sing it with us.
The ACT 1 Standard
The season ends way down deep.
A Score Like No Other
New Orleans jazz, American folk, and soaring anthems in the most acclaimed theatrical score of its generation. A once in a lifetime sing.
Myth Made Modern
The oldest love stories ever told, retold with striking relevance. Performers wrestle with hope, doubt, and why we keep singing anyway.
Sing as One
Rich harmony, a working chorus that never leaves the stage, and an ensemble that carries the story together from the first note to the last.

The Cast
Meet the Company
Two mortals with a song. Two gods with a broken promise. One messenger who has seen it all, three Fates who know how it ends, and a chorus of workers who carry the whole world on their shoulders. Hadestown is an ensemble in the truest sense, and every voice on this stage matters from the first note to the last.
Lead Roles
Orpheus
The DreamerA poor boy with a gift, working on a song that could bring the world back into tune. His hope is his power, and his doubt is his test.
Eurydice
The SurvivorA hungry young woman who has learned the hard way to look out for herself. Practical where Orpheus is dreamy, and the beating heart of the story’s hardest choice.
Hermes
The MessengerThe silver-tongued narrator who has told this story a thousand times and tells it again anyway, because maybe this time it ends differently. The engine of the entire show.
Hades
King of the UnderworldThe king way down under, who built a kingdom of walls and forgot why he built it. Thunder in the low notes and heartbreak underneath.
Persephone
Lady of the SeasonsThe goddess of summer, wine, and living out loud, caught between the world above that adores her and the husband below who barely remembers how to say so.
The Fates
The TrioThree voices in perfect, unsettling harmony. They whisper every doubt, know every ending, and follow Orpheus and Eurydice like a shadow. A dream role for three singers who blend as one.
The Workers Chorus
The Workers
The souls who built Hadestown brick by brick. Powerful group movement and thunderous unison singing at the core of the show.
Featured Voices
Solo lines and featured moments rise out of the chorus throughout the show. Chorus members are never in the background here.
The Storytellers
Above ground and below, the company frames every scene, becoming the railroad, the wind, the walls, and the world itself.
Casting Philosophy at ACT 1
At ACT 1, we believe every performer deserves meaningful opportunities to shine. Hadestown is built differently than most musicals: a handful of principals and a chorus that carries the entire world of the show. That makes the Workers Chorus one of the most demanding and rewarding ensembles a young performer can join. In this story, the chorus is not behind the leads. The chorus is beside them, every single song.
