At ACT 1, we believe every child deserves a stage and a chance to shine. Our programs are built to open doors for young people and help them find confidence, creativity, and connection through the magic of theatre. We’re here to lift children up, to show them that their voices matter, and to give them a place where they feel seen, supported, and proud of who they are.
Our mission is simple. We want to make the performing arts accessible to every child, no matter their background or school. From families in our community to Title I campuses that need the arts most, we’re here to serve with love, passion, and purpose. Theatre has the power to change lives, and we’re honored to share that gift with every student who walks through our doors.

Curtains Up!
Curtains Up is ACT 1’s school partnership program that brings theatre education directly into classrooms and campuses. We work with schools of all kinds, including Title I schools, to build and grow drama programs that inspire creativity, teamwork, and confidence in every student.
From helping schools stage their first musical to providing workshops and mentorship for teachers, Curtains Up gives students the chance to experience the magic of theatre right where they learn. Together, we’re creating more stages for more children to shine.

Shine Together: Kind Lights Initiative
Shine Together is ACT 1’s inclusive theatre program for children of all abilities. Using our Kind Lights approach, we create a calm and welcoming space where every child can feel safe, supported, and proud to perform.
This program celebrates each child’s unique light and reminds us that when we shine together, we make the whole community brighter.

Stage Ready!
Stage Ready is ACT 1’s personalized training program for students and professionals who want to take their performance to the next level. Through one-on-one acting and vocal coaching, we help performers build confidence, refine their skills, and prepare for auditions, shows, and professional opportunities.
Every session focuses on growth, creativity, and authentic expression, helping each performer step into the spotlight proud, prepared, and truly stage ready.
